Full virtual launch event Solarflare produced for the LEGO Technic x Lamborghini Sian collaboration, designed to match the ambition of a 1:1 scale physical replica.
A launch event as ambitious as the model
LEGO Technic spent thousands of hours building a 1:1 replica of the Lamborghini Sian. The physical object was extraordinary. The launch event needed to match that ambition without the option of a physical venue. We designed and produced a fully virtual launch event that put the collaboration at the centre of the experience rather than treating the digital format as a compromise. The brief was clear: this is a premium product reveal between two iconic brands, and the audience will judge the event by the same standard they judge the model itself.Every production decision was made with that bar in mind. The virtual environment, the presentation flow, the visual language, all of it needed to feel like a Lamborghini event and a LEGO event simultaneously, without diluting either identity.
Producing for a global audience
Virtual launch events in 2020 ranged from broadcast-quality productions to glorified Zoom calls. We built this one closer to the broadcast end of that spectrum. The event was designed for a global press and consumer audience who had no reason to be forgiving about production values. We handled the full event production layer: environment design, scripting, talent briefing, technical delivery, and the integration of product assets supplied by both LEGO and Lamborghini. The replica itself was the hero, and the virtual space was designed to let people examine it from angles that a physical reveal event rarely allows.
Two brands, one coherent experience
The hardest creative problem on a co-branded event is keeping both identities intact when they pull in different directions. LEGO and Lamborghini are not natural aesthetic partners, and neither brand wanted to be subordinated to the other. We built the visual language around the object itself rather than either brand's design system in isolation. The 1:1 replica is the thing both parties are proud of, and treating it as the centrepiece gave us a coherent frame that both brands could stand behind. Press coverage reflected that, with outlets from automotive media to toy and design publications covering the launch on its own terms.
