// 01 — WHO WE ARE
Solarflare Studio Ltd ("Solarflare Studio", "we", "our") is a creative production studio registered in England and Wales (company no. 12232159), with its registered office at 3rd Floor, News Building, 3 London Bridge Street, London SE1 9SG, United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Solarflare Studio is the Data Controller for personal data collected through this website (solarflarestudio.co.uk).
// 02 — WHAT WE COLLECT
Information you give us
  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, and the contents of the message you send.
  • Direct correspondence: anything you choose to share when you email us at hello@solarflarestudio.co.uk.
Information collected automatically
  • Aggregated, anonymous analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate country, referring source, device type). We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-less and does not track you across sites.
  • Standard server logs from our hosting provider (Vercel) — IP address, user-agent, request time — used for security and debugging. These are retained for a short period and not linked to any other personal data.
// 03 — HOW WE USE IT
  • To respond to enquiries you send through the contact form or by email.
  • To understand how the site is used in aggregate, so we can improve the content and experience.
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues and abuse.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.
We will never sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
// 04 — LEGAL BASIS
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal data:
  • Consent — when you submit the contact form or email us, you are consenting to us using that information to reply.
  • Legitimate interests — for aggregated analytics and basic server logs that help us run the site securely.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required by law to retain or disclose information.
// 05 — WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share information only with the trusted service providers we need to run the site:
  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
  • Webflow — CMS that stores the editorial content shown on the site.
  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-focused, cookie-less site analytics.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery for contact form submissions.
Each of these providers is contractually bound to handle data securely and in line with applicable data-protection law. If a UK regulator or court legally requires us to disclose information, we will comply.
// 06 — HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
  • Contact form messages and email correspondence: retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and for up to 24 months afterwards for our records, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Analytics data: aggregated and anonymous; not linked to you personally.
  • Server logs: typically retained for up to 30 days.
// 07 — YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data.
  • Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to how we process your data.
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@solarflarestudio.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
// 08 — COOKIES
This site uses Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-less by design — no tracking cookies are set when you visit. We do not use third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels.

If we ever introduce cookies (for example for an embedded video player), we will update this policy and request consent where required.
// 09 — CHILDREN
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
// 10 — CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the most recent change was made. Material changes will be noted prominently on this page.
