Heineken sought to challenge this dynamic, envisioning a scalable format that actively involves audiences in shaping the music they hear. The challenge was to create a system that would work seamlessly across both intimate nighttime settings and large-scale daytime festivals, while staying true to Heineken’s brand ethos of refreshing and inclusive experiences.

APPROACH
Interactive Music for Day and Night
In collaboration with MassiveMusic, we developed the ‘Refresh Takeover’ experience, a cutting-edge blend of technology, music, and audience participation. The concept was powered by proprietary software that integrates LED wristbands for nighttime events and interactive Heineken® bottles for daytime festivals.

Through real-time voting systems, the crowd determines the playlist by choosing their favorite genres, songs, and beats. DJs use the instant feedback provided by wristband color changes or bottle interactions to adapt their sets, creating an organic, dynamic performance that resonates with the audience.
